MOTOR VEHICLE (THIRD PARTY INSURANCE) ACT 1943 - SECT 27B
27B . False or misleading information
(1) A person must not
do anything set out in subsection (2) —
(a) in,
or in connection with, a notice or other document given under this Act; or
(b) in
compliance, or purported compliance, with a requirement under this Act; or
(c) for
any other purpose under this Act.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $10 000.
(2) The things to
which subsection (1) applies are —
(a)
making a statement that the person knows is false or misleading in a material
particular; and
(b)
omitting from a statement made anything without which the statement is, to the
person’s knowledge, misleading in a material particular; and
(c)
giving information that —
(i)
the person knows is false or misleading in a material
particular; or
(ii)
omits anything without which the information, to the
person’s knowledge, is misleading in a material particular.
